UNDERRATED - Lost & Found

“UNDERRATED” can be translated into Italian as “SOTTOVALUTATO”.
We had all underestimated the value of those pieces on trains, of those names, and how those “drawings” would mark our lives...
That’s why those vintage photos on un-filmed livery are so important now and move us so much... We had underestimated them and let them go because, after all, we told ourselves: “I can see these trains every day.” It wasn’t like that.
Soon after, the advent of films on trains would change the rules of the game and facilitate the removal of the pieces.
This book is a sincere tribute to the writers and the trains that unconsciously raised us during our adolescence and includes a selection of pieces on trains made in Veneto from 1996 to 2001.
Born from a chat between two friends that could have turned out to be another idea to discard and from the desire to have a “booklet” that collected our photos of the “trains we saw when we went to school,” UNDERRATED grew and became a collaborative project.
Here you will find a succession of memories, of amateur photos taken with the means of the time. Do not seek quality at all costs; you are in the wrong book. Rather, look for the passion, the pioneering enthusiasm, the love for letters and for trains that was felt in our stations during that period.
