Rime - Direction Diary Vol.1

RIME, also known as Jersey Joe, is a graffiti writer and artist originally from Brooklyn who now lives in Los Angeles. He began writing graffiti in 1991, soon developing a unique and recognizable style. His works were first exhibited in 2003, and two years later, he moved to Los Angeles, joining the legendary Mad Society Kings (MSK) crew. Today, RIME is considered one of the best-known graffiti writers in the United States.

In the first volume of the DIRECTION DIARY series, he takes us directly inside his creative process. This softcover volume contains no photographs of finished pieces or similar works. Created entirely in pen, the content collects tags, outlines, slogans, throw-ups, character sketches, and more elaborate designs for pieces created during various trips across the United States.

This conceptual 164-page volume focuses on his work on paper, elevating its value and status to another level. Each of these works is much more than a simple sketch made to be reproduced later on a wall or canvas: they are autonomous works with their own identity. His flow, the influences from the world of cartoons, and the progressive development of an idea within the different series allow for a closer look at RIME's creative and resourceful mind. The book opens with a foreword by RIME himself and is limited to 500 copies.
