Thanks to its geographical location, Belgium has become an essential stop for any self-respecting train writer. After a few years in which foreign writers from neighboring countries like France, the Netherlands, and Germany painted on the dark green and burgundy red carriages, the local scene began to take shape, eventually giving rise to some of the most well-known and respected train writers in Europe.

Tales from Belgium collects 160 extraordinary stories and 80 anecdotes, told over the span of 32 years by local and foreign writers, as well as railway police officers, cleaning staff, and train conductors.
