blackbook-05-shore
Blackbook 05 - Shore1 RTA

BLACKBOOK 05 – SHORE continues the editorial series curated by the team behind one of the biggest graffiti blogs in the world: ILOVEGRAFFITI. After years dedicated to documenting, researching, producing, and promoting graffiti subculture, they decided to return directly to the origins: a writer's blackbook. In the pre-Internet era of analog photography, the blackbook held a unique status. It often contained the writer's best works, sketches, drawings by friends, or tags of heroes: a private portfolio.
SHORE is undoubtedly a true legend of German graffiti, who began writing in Hamburg in the late 1980s as SIN and later as STAR. He quickly adopted a distinctive way of drawing his pieces: simple but vibrant letters, gigantic in size compared to common works of the time, thick, absolutely legible, super clean outlines, often painted with solid full-tone colors on both trains and walls and with rarely used shading – an aesthetic typical of Dortmund and also Copenhagen back then.
His high productivity and professional approach led him to become a member of the infamous Real Transit Artists (RTA) crew in 1990. It seemed that the RTA style in Hamburg was created by the city's most active bombers: ENRO, WHO, SERA, LOR, SIR, ENT, SERTA, DINR, VOLA, and SHORE.

When it became clear that all these names were pseudonyms for the same person, the title of "king" was fully deserved for the Hamburg graffiti maniac. But the fifth volume of the BLACKBOOK series also focuses on his countless activities on trains and travels to cities like Vienna, Dortmund, Berlin, or New York.

Looking back from today, it is even more astonishing to see that most of his production was done only up to 1994, together with partners such as CHINTZ, MILK, ZEBSTER, SHARK, JBK, NEON, LOOMIT, SIE, CES53, ZEDZ, PRIME, DROW, HOT, SENTO, STONE, and others. The impressive 152 pages, full of an incredible number of high-quality works created in less than ten years, emphasize his importance and the stylistic influence he had beyond the borders of Hamburg throughout Europe. About three decades later, it is finally time to give the public access to His Highness's archives. The book features over 400 photos from 1987 to 1995 and also includes additional texts by SHARK, MOSES, DROW, and others.

152 pages

Size: 29.7 x 21 cm

Hardcover with additional silver embossing

Language: English

ISBN: 978-3-9825457-7-6

Publication: February 2026

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0642/7951/1228/files/Blackbook_05_SHORE_RTA_I-Love-Graffiti-0.webp?v=1775208365
